The ship has seven butlers onboard; one butler is assigned to each suite. And they can take care of everything from food and beverage and packing and unpacking to shoe shines and laundry services. They also deliver daily canapes and clean in-suite coffee makers. The butlers are a huge source of information for onboard activities and services as well as island excursions and general activities.

Either way, I do recommend making a reservation (online, via the NCL app, at the reservations desk next to Guest Services, or by calling reservations) if you know in advance when you’d like to dine. There was a separate podium for those with a reservation allowing them to bypass the (sometimes long) line and be seated quickly. We took our first cruise to Hawaii on the now infamous Grand Princess to/from San Francisco in 2018 and it scooted Alaska off to the side when it comes to our favorite place to cruise. So, despite reading mixed reviews of the ship, the Pride of America was our only option. Penthouse Suite
NCL Pride of America itinerary program is based on 7-day Hawaiian Islands voyages from Honolulu. The roundtrip itinerary calls at the most exotic islands in the popular travel destination – Hawaii, Kauai and Maui, with several optional shore excursions in the region. On her standard 7-night itinerary, Pride of America provides overnights on Kauai and Maui, as well as calls at Kona and Hilo, and an afternoon sailing of Napali Coast. The Hollywood Theatre, located on Deck 5 forward, is just one story and fairly small, with excellent sight lines.
Studio Single Cabins
It's hard to fault a crew who are trying their level best to ensure guests have a great vacation. Here, they will find a variety of activity options (selfie competitions, game show nights, etc.) and a dance floor. The club also has a foosball table, air hockey table and video jukebox.
Categories OK and OX are with obstructed views due to lifeboats. Some Oceanview and Inside cabins have 2 beds pull-down beds (upper bunk beds) for a 3rd/4th passenger. All outside cabins feature a sitting area with a table and a double sofa bed. MS Pride of America staterooms as sizes are smaller compared to the industry’s standard. There are all 64 wheelchair-accessible cabins (for disabled passengers), 24 of which are ADA-compliant rooms.
STATEROOMS
All other cruises to/from Hawaii will call in a foreign port (usually Canada or Mexico), adding on many sea days and at least one non-Hawaiian stop to their itinerary (not a bad thing in my mind, but a significant difference). If you only have one week off work and want to cruise Hawaii or don’t like sea days, the Pride of America is your only option. The Hollywood Theater (Deck 5) is the main theater on Pride of America with two events per night.
Project America was to be a class name as plans included a second 70,000 ton vessel to be built by the USA shipbuilders Litton-Ingalls. This was a US Government lavishly funded program aiming to give USA-based companies experience in building passenger ships and to list the first US-flagged ship in 5 decades. American Classic Voyages Inc (the company behind the project) bankrupted and NCL bought the unfinished vessel (at hull stage). Its construction was completed in Germany (at the Lloyd Werft's Bremerhaven shipyard). The beds in all rooms, with the exception of suites and studios, can be split into two separate twin beds.

The professional Deck and Engine officers on the Pride of America are supplied by the Marine Engineer's Beneficial Association, and the M.E.B.A.'s current president (2021-), Adam Vokac, had sailed as First Assistant Engineer onboard. Between 2002 and 2008, Sommer was the co-founder and President of Luxury Cruise Center, a high-end travel agency specializing in selling premium and luxury cruise products. If you want a special night out, consider dinner at one of the specialty restaurants on Pride of America. At La Cucina, enjoy Italian classics made with the freshest ingredients. Order iconic dishes like veal scaloppini or spaghetti carbonara. Because I’ve cruised to Hawaii before, some of these hits and misses serve partly as a comparison of my two experiences, the other being a 15 night round-trip sailing from San Fransisco on the Grand Princess. And some are stand-alone observations of the Pride of America, teased apart from the overall Hawaii cruising experience.
There are several scenic beaches—including Secret Beach, Lumahai Beach, and Tunnels Beach—along the way, but parking is roadside, access can be tricky via steep trails and swimming isn't advised due to rough surf. If you'd rather dive into a snorkel adventure, two top catamaran excursions are the six-hour Molokini Crater & Turtle Snorkel ($249 per person) or the 8.5-hour Lanai Sail & Snorkel ($229). I did Molokini—an offshore crescent-shaped crater that's home to more than 250 species of tropical fish—on my first visit to Hawaii and enjoyed it.

East Meets West is an Asian fusion restaurant serving soups, noodles, and popular dishes from East and South Asia. Having spent significant time in both China and Japan, I know (and love) Asian food. And I found the selections at East Meets West delicious and hovering pretty close to authentic for free cruise ship food. As the only American flagged ocean cruise ship, you’ll notice three major differences between the Pride of America and other ships that sail to/from Hawaii. First, the Passenger Vessel Services Act does not apply to American registered ships, so the Pride of America isn’t required to stop at a foreign port.

During its latest dry dock Pride of America added private cabanas on Deck 14; the cabanas are first come, first served (no sign-up sheet required).
The two MDRs, Skyline and Liberty, are one above the other, both located at the aft. These carry through Americana themes, with Liberty paying homage to American patriotism and Skyline serving as a Deco-version of NYC. There are pianos in both main dining rooms, and occasionally a musician provides background music for dinner.
There were a few bartenders who were bordering on rude and service was very slow at times. But most were working hard and doing their best to be friendly and attentive. But should you be interested in dining at them, here are some photos and a brief description of each.
As an extra bonus, there aren't any days at sea, opening up even more time to explore and participate in shore excursions. Owners Suites have 2 bedrooms (one with king bed, the other with 2 lower beds), balcony (sunbeds, dining area, hot tub), double vanity, living room (double sofa bed), luxury bathroom (whirlpool bathtub, separate shower), guest bathroom, dining room, dressing area, wet bar. Owner Suites can accommodate up to 10 guests is connected to an adjacent Penthouse Suite.
